Undergraduate Creative Writing Awards with Philip Metres

Please join the Creative Writing Program for our annual undergraduate awards event celebration, with guest writer and judge Philip Metres.  The event will be held Wednesday, April 14, 2021 at 7 pm via zoom.

Philip Metres is a poet, essayist, scholar, and activist.  He is the author of ten books, including Shrapnel Maps (Copper Canyon 2020), Sand Opera, and The Sound of Listening. Awarded the Guggenheim Fellowship, the Lannan Fellowship, three Arab American Book Awards, and two National Endowment of the Arts Fellowships, he is professor of English and director of the Peace, Justice, and Human Rights program at John Carroll University.
