CTA Series-February

On January 21, 2017, millions across the globe donned pink “pussyhats” as they gathered to voice their support for human rights issues including reproductive health, LGBTQIA rights, civil rights, and religious freedom. Join Apparel + Textile Design faculty members Theresa Winge and Rebecca Schuiling for a discussion of the Pussyhat Project and the power of dress within social movements. Following the talk, we invite you to engage with your elected o icials addressing the issues you care most about at our postcard station. MSU Museum curators Mary Worrall and Shirley Wajda will be on hand with a small exhibition of objects of historic social movements.

Call to Action is an ongoing series that encourages members of our community to be active participants in the democratic process. A range of activities and discussions will explore the ways you can advocate for issues that are important to you.
