The Military-Affiliated Student Learning Community will meet every 3rd Friday of the month starting in September. This community will focus on how military experiences impact students in an effort to pave the way for deeper understanding about how this could impact pedagogy and ultimately support the development of best practices for instructors to consider for their own classrooms.
The LC is open to any instructors (i.e. tenured and non-tenured faculty, fixed term faculty, specialists, etc.) and student support staff who have direct interaction with MSU students (i.e. LBGT Resource Center, REHS, advisors, RCPD, etc.). Members will be encouraged to engage in multidirectional discussions, and a specific focus will be placed on underserved groups of service members (i.e. females, LGBTQ+, disabled, varying socioeconomic backgrounds).
