Join this conversation to explore the questions posed by our latest Field Station artist, Matthew Angelo Harrison, about the nature of identity and “abstracted ancestries.” Harrison is a Detroit-based artist who creates otherworldly sculptures that combine traces of ethnographic research, science fiction, and industrial design. Harrison will be joined by Candace Keller, Associate Professor of African Art, Art History and Visual Culture at MSU.
Field Station: Matthew Angelo Harrison is curated by Steven L. Bridges, Associate Curator. Support for this series is provided by the MSU Federal Credit Union. On view Oct. 13 – Nov. 25, 2018.
