Conversation with Charles Yu

“After two centuries here, why are we still not American? Why do we keep falling out of t he story?” asked a character in Charles Yu’s novel Interior Chinatown, a burning question of Asian America. Join the conversation with Yu, the 2020 National Book Award winner and a corporate lawyer turned creative writer, to celebrate the Asian Pacific American Heritage Month. He will discuss his experience of being an Asian in America and reflect on issues of writing, representation, and visibility.

This event is organized by APASP and APASO in partnership with the Associated Students of Michigan State University, Broad College of
Business, College of Law, and College of Arts and Letters . President Samuel L. Stanley will make a welcome remark.
