Megan currently serves as the Manager of Innovation Research at Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Digital in California. Her extensive background includes majors in Film Studies and English, with work experiences as scouting and location management, in media, market research in publishing, and more. Megan exemplifies the winding pathways that Liberal Arts students experience, all driven by her quest for knowledge and curiosity.
What Megan has to say: Curiosity leads to understanding. Or at least it does in me. I’ve spent my life fascinated by WHY? and HOW? and the impact of WHO? and WHAT? Information-seeking behavior has become more complex and more interesting as technology has become entrenched in our daily lives. I aim to help solve the puzzles and answer the questions and drive the strategic decisions that impact design, products, markets and consumers. Perhaps I’m suited to the role of Research because just like a young Alice, I can’t help but always ask “Why?” and “How Come?” and “What’s Next?”
How’d I get here? After obtaining my Bachelors in English and Film Studies from Michigan State University, a career in research and scouting surfaced in New York. Time at research desks and library stacks increased my desire to grow in my career by heading to Los Angeles and pursuing my Masters in Library and Information Science at UCLA. Opening that door sent me down the rabbit hole to the world of emerging technology digital spaces . I’ve been asking questions ever since.
