Afro-Puerto Rican Bomba Workshop with Bombazo Dance Co.
Starting this Wednesday Electric Marronage is hosting a 4-week Bomba Dance Class open to everyone (all ages, communities, abilities, and experience)! Bomba is a 500+ year old dance brought to the island by enslaved Puerto Ricans. It is a dance and a music genre that survived multiple attempts of extermination, discrimination, and policing. Join us in celebrating one of the earliest adapted Afro-Indigenous musical styles in the Americas as part of Black History Month.
