Refracting Histories of Art and Community recognizes the scholarly achievements of advanced undergraduate students of Art History and Visual Culture in the Department of Art, Art History and Design at Michigan State University.

The 2020 Symposium features five independent research projects that investigate interactions between artistic production and society, and address issues related to immigration, civil rights and Black cultural expression, accessibility and Native heritage, and feminism.
