“Minds of Modernism: Michigan and Mid-Century Design” highlights the national impact of Michigan designers adopting and spreading mid-century modern concepts. The exhibition is a collaboration between Susan J. Bandes, the Archives of Michigan, and the State Historic Preservation Office as well as the Michigan History Center and the Michigan History Foundation. Susan’s contribution on mid-Michigan modern residences draws from her just-published book, “Mid-Michigan Modern: From Frank Lloyd Wright to Googie,” published by the MSU Press.
Exhibition dates at the Michigan History Museum, Lansing, are October 8, 2016-April 9, 2017.
Exhibition opening, Saturday, October 8, 2-4pm with curator tours.
