The MSU Language Testing Research Group, will host a Testing and Tasting event on Thursday, January 16 from 1:00PM – 2:00PM inB-243 Wells Hall.

What to expect
Dr. India Plough will lead a discussion on nonverbal behavior and its role in the speaking construct of language proficiency tests. She’ll give us an overview of MSU’s RCAH (Residential College in Arts and Humanities) speaking language proficiency test to illustrate how nonverbal behavior within an operational test can affect a speaking assessment. The discussion will be informal in nature, not a lecture style, so you’ll have ample opportunity to ask questions and give insights. Sweet and savory snacks will be provided, as well as coffee, tea, and water.

Who should attend this event?
– anyone interested in language test development, evaluation, and validation

– novice and experienced language researchers who use or are looking to use speaking proficiency tests as data instruments in their research

– graduate students enrolled in LLT 806 or LLT 808 this spring term.
