Sometimes your work is best shared as a website. There are lots of options for web publishing that don’t require you to write code. Whether you’re curious about specific web platforms (like WordPress, Drupal, Omeka, and Scalar), or you’re brand new to web publishing, this workshop will walk you through what each of these platforms are for, their strengths and weaknesses, and how they might be applicable to your work. No coding experience or laptop required.
Part of the MSU Digital Humanities Workshop series, this introductory workshop is open to anyone – students, faculty, staff, the public – from any disciplinary background.

The MSU College of Arts & Letters partners with an organization that identifies customized internship placements for students in New York City in industries such as arts and culture, finance and advertising, politics and law, health and community services, communications and public relations, marketing and journalism, hotels and tour operators, and many more. This program is open to all MSU majors.
Discuss image sequencing to tell a story, and go out and shoot a situation on campus with the best camera you’ve got, which means the one you’ve got with you. Kurt is MSU’s official photographer! Before spending 22 years as a specialist in scientific imaging at the MSU-DOE Plant Research Laboratory, Kurt co-owned a commercial photography studio in Detroit. Kurt has worked as a photographer for Communications and Brand Strategy since 2003; he is a recipient of the University Photographers Association of American Print and Publication award and a cofounder of the Great Lakes Area Plastic Camera Group.
