Participatory action research and the language curriculum: Practical and ethical considerations for the world languages educator
In this workshop, you will become familiar with the principles of Participatory Action Research (PAR) and how it can be used to build curriculum and facilitate pedagogical interactions among participants in the World Languages classroom. We will examine applications of PAR in the day-to-day operations of the language classroom and how it can contribute to student motivation and autonomy.

This information session is designed for students from all majors who are interested in teaching abroad. You will hear from panelists who have participated in a variety of teaching abroad experiences.

Join us at the TESOL International Conference in Seattle! As the largest organization for English language educators, TESOL International Association hosts more than 6,500 people annually from around the world at its convention. Educators at all levels attend to exchange ideas and connect with a dynamic professional community.
The convention begins on Tuesday night with the opening keynote and closes on Friday evening with a celebratory event. During those three-plus days, attendees can choose from nearly 1,000 educational sessions and visit the more than 120 exhibitors in the English Language Expo.

We will take vans to the outlet and spend the day shopping.
Meet at the Wells Hall B entrance at the bottom the stairway that leads to the ELC at 8:15am. DO NOT BE LATE!
Cost is $15 for round trip transportation to the outlet.
Please sign up and pay (cash or check) at the English Language Center in Wells Hall B230.
Deadline to pay: Friday 5/26 at 5:00pm
All new ELC students are invited to stop by the lawn east of Wells Hall (outside the Starbucks) for lunch and to meet your new classmates and teachers. (If it raining, the event will be held in the 2nd floor Atrium in Wells Hall, near B240.)
All new ELC students must attend Orientations A, B, and C. Bring your passport and I-20.
All new ELC students should come to the second floor of the A Wing of Wells Hall, Room A202, to pick up their class schedules. Please form a line from the stairwell lobby. Their will be other classes taking place on the 2nd floor, so please remain quiet. Bring your MSU student ID.
