Junior and Senior XA and PW majors are invited to attend the Day of Professionalization on Friday, January 27th. The event, which takes place in the Technology Innovation Center on Grand River (above Jackson Zone), is meant to help our students learn topics such as networking, interviewing, resumes, and negotiating salaries. Workshops begin at 9am, and continue until lunch. At lunch, students will break up into small groups to eat and talk with professionals from various organizations in Mid-Michigan. This is a valuable experience for those students who attend.
All faculty and graduate students are invited to join WRAC and WRAP to meet our potential new PhD students at Beggar’s Banquet on Friday, 2/24/17. The event, held in the private room at the restaurant, will allow current WRAC faculty and students to discuss the program with students considering attending MSU next fall. Appetizers provided, cash bar.

Pitchapalooza Book Pitch Competition | Erickson Kiva (room 103) | 5:30 – 7:00
It’s called Pitchapalooza, the American Idol for books and it works like this: Anyone with an idea for a book has the chance to pitch it to a panel of judges. But they get only one minute. …The Judges critique everything from idea to style to potential in the marketplace and much, much more. … All attendees come away with concrete advice on how to improve their pitch as well as a greater understanding of the ins and outs of the publishing industry. The winner receives an introduction to an agent or publisher that is appropriate for their work.
