Born into a Pakistani immigrant family and growing up and educated in Birmingham, Khan later studied at Cambridge University and Imperial College, London, before choosing the theatre as his career. He began his directing career at the Leicester Haymarket and National Theatre Studio and his many credits include a remarkably diverse range of productions from Shakespeare to the works of Harold Pinter and Arthur Miller, and including some Operas. The title of his talk at the Wharton Center is “THE CREATIVE PROCESS OF DIRECTING: From Shakespeare to Opera and Beyond.”

The Michigan History Center is celebrating with ‘Rock Your Mocs.’ The event is a three-part series featuring workshops and other opportunities to explore 21st Century Native American perspectives in Michigan, according to a press release. Come out to this storytelling event centered around learning languages and world/self discovery. There will be music, storytelling, food/drinks, and a chance to get to know people. The event will draw together students, faculty, and community members at SCENE (Metrospace), MSU’s expo/event space downtown EL on November 15th at 6pm.
