MSU Career Services Network is hosting “Drop-In Days” where all students can learn about Career Services Network and the services that we provide. They will be providing information and help with several resources such as: finding on campus jobs, resume reviews, career fair prep, navigating Handshake, and building a professional social media presence. The 8th annual Innovate Michigan! Summit will be held on Thursday, August 29, 2019 at the Kellogg Hotel & Conference Center in East Lansing.
Each year, the MSU-EDA University Center for Regional Economic Innovation (REI) organizes the Innovate Michigan! Summit, a conference that brings together economic experts and enthusiasts alike to share, learn, and create unique and innovative approaches to economic development and revitalization in the State of Michigan.
This year’s Innovate Michigan! Summit will feature presentations on innovative economic development tools, models, programs, and policies from around the state. Following the Summit, participants are invited to stroll the MIC Expo and network at the evening reception.
Career Fair Description
Sponsored by Jackson National Life, this event is open to all MSU students looking for a part-time job or internship while in school. Local businesses, non-profits, government agencies and MSU departments will be present to talk with you about available opportunities during fall and spring semesters. On-site career coaching is available!
Location: Spartan Stadium Office Tower, 4th floor Huntington Club (map)
Note: This is a casual, informal career fair so it’s okay to come as you are from your classes. You don’t have to put on hot, career clothes, but do try to look nice for the employers.

Spend time with the cast and crew of Come From Away!
This service activity is being organized in collaboration with the Wharton Center social media team, and the actors and director of the musical, Come From Away, which is being performed at the Wharton Center beginning September 10.
•Painting a banner for the Refugee Development Center’s youth soccer team for their first game this semester! No artistic experience required.
•Making blankets for refugee families in the Lansing area.
This is a great service opportunity, where students can do some collaborative artistic work (no artistic experience required!) and learn a little about refugees and the challenges they face. RDC and St. Vincent Catholic Charities will be there to answer questions about volunteering at their facilities.
Talk with Employers and Career Services staff to have your resume reviewed in preparation of the upcoming Fall Career Fairs. Need a professional photo taken for your Handshake or Linkedin profile, there will be a photographer available during the event. Please bring a printed copy of your resume.

Students of all majors are welcome to speak with Fortune 500 companies at the Women in Business Students’ Association (WBSA) Mock Career Fair on Tuesday, September 17, 2019, from 6:30 PM-8:30 PM in the MSU Union Ballroom-Second Floor.
It is an opportunity for students’ to rehearse their elevator speech and receive feedback in preparation for the actual Fall Career Days on September 18-19, 2019 at the Breslin Center. Recruiters from more than 25 different corporations will be available to talk to students.
The Mock Career Fair is an event that imitates the actual Career Fairs to provide students with the opportunity to gain feedback from real recruiters, network with Fortune 500 companies, practice their professional skills and work through the anxiety that is prone to happen before this big day.
Some of the companies attending the Mock Career Fair are General Mills, Target, PWC, Pepsico and Amazon.
WBSA is a student organization that is part of the Multicultural Business Programs within the Eli Broad College of Business. They provide students with an opportunity to establish relationships with Fortune 500 companies at bi-weekly General Membership Meetings and other annual events.
