100 Years of Bauhaus Celebration
Oct 14 – Oct 19 all-day
Celebrate the 100-year anniversary of the founding of the Bauhaus in Dessau, Germany.

The famous art school influenced a broad range of disciplines including art, architecture, graphic design, interior design, industrial design, and typography. Events will explore the idea of Bauhaus as an institutional form as it traveled from Germany to institutions in the United States and around the globe, focusing on what today’s university can learn from the Bauhaus’ legacy of interdisciplinary education, embodied learning, and institutional collaboration. All events are free and open to the public.

The 2019 Chinese campus recruitment season has now begun. This session will teach participants how to find and apply for quality employment opportunities in China. Lockin, the global recruitment firm, is partnering with Michigan State University to bring you an employment workshop for overseas talent wishing to find jobs in China.

Who should attend: Chinese nationals, all Chinese SARs, all students who want to find jobs in China.

Students will:

• Receive the latest information about China’s job market

• Gain skills of resume writing, interviews and testing

• Learn about the full campus recruitment process used by best known employers

• Learn about online application strategy and skills

• Participate in leaderless group discussion

• Receive on-site guidance

TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® Coloring Page Contest

Two Men and a Truck is holding a contest for a fresh coloring page design for Movers for Moms®.  Movers for Moms is our national giving program aimed to assist moms in need. All our franchise locations collect donations to deliver to women’s and family shelters every spring. The franchises partner with various organizations to collect these items and make Mother’s Day special for all moms, regardless of their circumstances. In 2019 alone, we collected more than 383,000 items in 44 states.

  • The design would be outlines in black and white for kids to color in at any of our Movers for Moms events and to put in the kits sent to all our franchises to give away.
  • Theme is family/moms. The design should stick in a childlike/cartoon type style (See attached pages for reference of our current coloring book).
  • Files accepted: Print Ready PDFs or Packaged Illustrator or InDesign files

Winner will have to sign a legal waiver granting us unlimited usage rights to the design and full intellectual property rights.

The winner will be selected by a panel of TMT Marketing personnel and will be informed via email that they won.

Prize: $200 Visa gift card

Contest will run Oct 14 – Nov 15

Winner will be announced Nov. 22

This workshop will examine the global employment market and job-seeking process overseas, with a special focus on India, Japan, Malaysia and Korea. Michigan State University is partnering with Lockin, the global recruitment experts.

Elaine Castillo was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, where she graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a degree in Comparative Literature. Her debut novel America Is Not the Heart was named one of the best books of 2018 by NPR, San Francisco Chronicle, Kirkus Reviews, The New York Public Library, The New York Post, The Boston Globe, Real Simple, Lit Hub, and more. It has been nominated for the Elle Award, the Center for Fiction Prize, the Aspen Words Prize, the Northern California Independent Booksellers Book Award, and the California Book Award. Her writing can be found in The New York Times, The Nation, Freeman’s, Electric Literature, Lit Hub, and elsewhere.
