Shostakovich Symphony 13 Project @ The Wharton Center | East Lansing | Michigan | United States

This concert features the very powerful Shostakovich Symphony No. 13 “Babi Yar,” and “I Never Saw Another Butterfly” by Charles Davidson. A setting of poems by the renowned Soviet writer Evgeny Yevtushenko, Shostakovich’s work significantly memorialized the 1941 massacre of Ukrainian Jews by Nazi forces at Baba Yar.

ONE MAN, TWO GUVNORS

by Richard Bean
based on The Servant of Two Masters by Carlo Goldoni
with songs by Grant Olding

Directed by Rob Roznowski
Musical Direction by Dave Wendelberger

This modern version of a commedia dell’arte piece follows the misfortunes of perpetually hungry Francis who suddenly finds himself employed by two separate bosses. Set in England during the 1960s this hilarious farce made James Corden a star.

Some playful sexual innuendo and mild profanity.
Appropriate for ages 10 and up.

The Summer Circle stage is an outdoor performance venue located between the Kresge Art Building and the Auditorium on the MSU Campus. Free parking is available across the street. In the event of rain, the performances will be moved into the Fairchild Theatre.

All performances are free and open to the public. Theatregoers can arrive early to grab a Summer Circle seat next to the stage or bring their own chairs for casual lawn seating. Attendees are encouraged to bring a picnic to enjoy during the show or buy a Food Truck treat. See you at the circle!
