This concert features the very powerful Shostakovich Symphony No. 13 “Babi Yar,” and “I Never Saw Another Butterfly” by Charles Davidson. A setting of poems by the renowned Soviet writer Evgeny Yevtushenko, Shostakovich’s work significantly memorialized the 1941 massacre of Ukrainian Jews by Nazi forces at Baba Yar.

Want to try a course or two? You can enroll in MAFLT courses as a Graduate Lifelong Education student. You must have a BA or BS to obtain Graduate Lifelong Education student status. To apply for Graduate Lifelong Education student status, complete the easy online Lifelong Education Application (https://reg.msu.edu/ROInfo/EnrReg/LifelongEducation.aspx). You may be able to transfer up to 9 credits received as a MSU Graduate Lifelong Education student into the MAFLT Program’s credit requirements if you are later accepted into the MAFLT Program. Tuition costs may be different for students who enroll in courses this way.

ONE MAN, TWO GUVNORS

This modern version of a commedia dell’arte piece follows the misfortunes of perpetually hungry Francis who suddenly finds himself employed by two separate bosses. Set in England during the 1960s this hilarious farce made James Corden a star.

Some playful sexual innuendo and mild profanity.
Appropriate for ages 10 and up.

The Summer Circle stage is an outdoor performance venue located between the Kresge Art Building and the Auditorium on the MSU Campus. Free parking is available across the street. In the event of rain, the performances will be moved into the Fairchild Theatre.

 All performances are free and open to the public. Theatregoers can arrive early to grab a Summer Circle seat next to the stage or bring their own chairs for casual lawn seating. Attendees are encouraged to bring a picnic to enjoy during the show or buy a Food Truck treat. See you at the circle!
