Wondering how to talk about your study abroad or international experience to employers? This workshop will help you explain your international experiences so that they are meaningful to employers and graduate schools. We’ll discuss all the ways you can share your international experiences on your resume, and how to talk about them in interviews. You’ll hear experiences from students in Spartans Abroad Global Ambassadors (SAGA – study abroad student group), International Student Association (ISA), and Career Peers (Career Services student employees). Students that have studied abroad, international students, or students that have spent time abroad, may benefit from this program.

Visit Lansing’s most Creative Spaces. Explore Internship and Part-time opportunities. Expand your network.

Join us for the 11th annual Mid-Michigan Creative Alliance Studio Crawl. The studio crawl is a unique opportunity to tour local Lansing studios and gain insight into the many creative businesses operating in the Capital City. Studios will be hosting tours of their spaces and answering questions from 3:00-5:00 p.m. After this, everyone will head to Lansing Brewing Company for a networking mixer!

You can come and go as you please. Do what’s convenient for you. Crawlers can start at any agency and visit the creative spaces at their own pace. Tours will be running every 10 to 15 minutes throughout the crawl.

Interested in studying film in Britain? Then come out for an info session on Thursday, October 17th in B453 Wells Hall from 5-6 pm!

Film in Britain offers students the opportunity to study film history and film production in two of Europe’s most vibrant cities, London and Edinburgh. This six-week program, led by Drs. Bill Vincent and Swarnavel Pillai, will combine the academic study of film, film production, and exposure to London and Edinburgh as cinematic cities. The production component will allow students to study screenwriting and/or film directing.  Filming will take place in some of the most cinematically attractive locations in both London and Edinburgh, incorporating famous landmarks like the London Eye, Brighton Beach Pier, the Hill Garden and Pergola, and more. Students will screen films at the British Film Institute, with classroom visits from world famous filmmakers and theorists.

Chad Frost, Program Coordinator for the Japan Center for Michigan Universities (JCMU), joins Middlebury Institute of International Studies’ (MIIS) Enrollment Advisor, Carol Johnson, for an informative presentation with Q&A about upcoming study abroad opportunities and why graduate school could be the right next step for you. Attendees will learn more about:

· Study abroad opportunities through JCMU.

· What constitutes an international career?

· The skills and experiences necessary for establishing an international career.

· Whether a graduate program is the right next step.

· How foreign language and experiential learning are integrated into all MIIS degrees.

Learning Abroad Conference @ MSU International Center

MSU Learning Abroad Conference (LAC) features presentations from students returned from international learning experiences and international students currently studying abroad here in East Lansing.  Since its inception in 2012, over 300 students have presented at the annual conference.  Domestic and International students from all academic levels—first year undergraduates to doctoral students—and a variety of academic disciplines have participated.  They have utilized the LAC as an opportunity to share their education abroad experiences with fellow students, family, friends, and the greater MSU community.  Presentations include a variety of formats such as poetry, journal entries, music compositions, video, and more.
